Summary of this volume: The 5th annual International Conference on Mathematics and Science Education (ICoMSE) 2021 was carried out virtually. This online conference gathered more than 300 participants from many countries and mostly from its home country, Indonesia. Lecturers, teachers, practitioners, graduate students, and even undergraduate students who shared a common interest attended the conference. The mathematics and science research results should ground mathematics and science education research development. Mathematics and science education research make those results more functional, disseminated, and accessible to the wider community. Therefore, although mathematics and science education research is the core of this conference, science papers are also welcomed. In this conference, educational technology papers, particularly those focusing on the application of ITC to enhance science and mathematics teaching, are welcome. This particular scope is to address this disruptive era of conducting hybrid learning. Hundreds of research results and ideas have been shared in this proceedings, offering the authors insights, highlighting challenges, and suggesting new solutions regarding the following topics: chemistry education, biology education, mathematics education, physics education, science education, and mathematics and science.
These proceedings will be of interest to: chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics educators; mathematics and science researchers; undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D students, particularly in the fields of mathematics and science education; and policy makers in the educational system.
