Summary of this volume: The 5th International Symposium on Applied Chemistry (ISAC) 2019 is already the fifth consecutive annual symposium that started at 2015, which were organized by the Research Center for Chemistry, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). This year, the theme of ISAC is "Chemistry for a Better Life: Natural Resources-based Technology", where the scientific program consisted of plenary and parallel sessions with the following topics: Material Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Medical Chemistry. During the process, the acceptance of the manuscript was around 80%.
