Summary of this volume: The 4th Polish Congress of Mechanics was a continuation of scientific meetings on Mechanics, initiated 12 years ago in Poland. The Congress is dedicated to the presentation of the current state of the art of all disciplines of Classical and Quantum Mechanics. The 23rd International Conference on Computer Methods in Mechanics (CMM) was, in turn, a continuation of the 46-year old series of biannual conferences dedicated to Computational Mechanics and brought together specialists interested in developing the overlap of Mechanics, Applied Mathematics and Numerical Methods as well as Computer Science.
All contributions to the Proceedings were subjected to the peer-review process. The papers address a wide range of topics, including linear, nonlinear, stationary and non-stationary mechanical problems, stochastic approaches, inverse analysis, coupled thermo-mechanical, bio-mechanical and piezo-mechanical phenomena and processes, multiscale computation, advanced approximation techniques, optimization, computational fluid dynamics, wave propagation, structural health monitoring, mechanical analysis of a synchrotron facility.
These proceedings will be of interest to: Researchers, doctoral students of mechanical, civil, environmental engineering, applied mathematics, numerical methods
