Title information
Summary of this volume: The infrastructure we are building today will shape tomorrows communities. Sustainable infrastructure refers to the designing, building, and operating of these structural elements in ways that do not diminish the social, economic, and ecological processes required to maintain human equity, diversity, and the functionality of natural systems. Despite some progress, most developing countries still suffer from insufficient infrastructure access, quality, and reliability. Moreover, infrastructure expansion often has come at the expense of the local environment, as well as complicating responses to the longer-term challenge of climate change. In relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI 2021) focused on research and education innovation in the field of infrastructure-related topics during the pandemic. This conference of civil engineers, urban architects, policy makers, technology experts, researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in infrastructure development provided a showcase for the latest innovation in all aspects of planning, design, construction, technology, policy, and education related to sustainable infrastructure during and post pandemic. This conference provided opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and experiences face to face, to establish business or research relations, and to find global partners for future collaboration.
These proceedings will be of interest to: university students (undergraduate and graduate), researchers, academicians, government officials, and practitioners.
