Volume 1979 is the proceedings of 20th Biennial APS Conference on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (SCCM17) (9–14 July 2017, St. Louis, MO, USA)
Title information
Summary of this volume: The Twentieth Biennial American Physical Society (APS) Conference on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (SCCM-2017) was held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch in St. Louis, MO, USA, from July 9 to July 14, 2017. The SCCM conference series continues to be the premier forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge worldwide research in fundamental science and applications of shock and detonation physics and chemistry, energetic materials, and materials response to extreme conditions. In 2017, 699 scheduled presentations were organized into 15 topical areas and two focus topics and included five plenary lectures, 41 invited talks, 511 contributed papers, and 142 poster presentations given during two poster sessions. Experimental, computational, and theoretical papers described new results concerning the behavior of matter under extreme conditions of high pressure, temperature, strain, and strain rate.
These proceedings will be of interest to: Graduate students, post-docs, and faculty working in extreme environments. Research staff at the DOE-funded National Labs.
