Summary of this volume: The 3rd International Conference on Smart Cities and Sustainable Planning (SCSP) was held in the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies (IURP), University of Baghdad (UOB), Baghdad, Iraq on April 26-27, 2022. SCSP was organized by the UOB, IURP, Statistical and Informatics Consultation Center, and Dijla Co. Pvt. Ltd.
SCSP created a scientific platform to discuss the latest trends in Smart Cities and Urban Planning. Many cities have made a qualitative leap in their different living systems through several technical systems and applications. Therefore, studying the technical elements involved in transforming modern cities into smart cities has become an essential issue. By using information and communication technology to make the components of cities — such as their infrastructure, facilities, and services — more effective and interactive, cities can be developed to achieve maximum benefits for their residents.
Our conference addressed the issues found and progress made in designing new cities and developing existing cities to meet modern standards by introducing artificial intelligence into the urban environment. These proceedings will discuss how AI can ensure a high quality of life for urban residents by helping them achieve social, economic, and environmental well-being.
