Volume 1933: 2nd Biomedical Engineering’s Recent Progress in Biomaterials, Drugs Development, and Medical Devices

Summary of this volume: International Symposium on Biomedical Engineering (ISBE) is an annual event initiated by the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (RCBE-UI). This regular activity is aimed at supporting the vision of RCBE-UI to become an excellent research center in biomedical applications that take an engineering approach to solve health problems in communities. This conference has three main topics: biomedical materials; drug development and delivery; and medical devices. These fields represent great potential and specific needs for our society. The knowledge and findings from these areas are presented in a way that brings both basic scientific information and specific outputs for possible use in research and industrial development. The biomedical materials sub-topic covers materials for stem cell, DNA extraction, gene targeting, biosensors, tissue engineering, and organ regeneration while the drugs development and delivery sub-topic addresses important issues in molecular biology, pharmacology, proteomics, and genetic engineering. Medical devices sub-topics include biomedical instrumentation, analytical and therapeutics devices, augmentative alternative communication (AAC), and assistive technologies (AT) in rehabilitation engineering applications.

These proceedings will be of interest to: Graduate students, Ph.D. students, academia, and researchers in biomedical engineering and life science.
