Summary of this volume: The 3rd International Conference on Science, Mathematics, Environment and Education (ICoSMEE) was held on 27 29th July 2021 and hosted by Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, Indonesia. This biennial conference encompassed a wide spectrum of topics, including the state-of-art and recent trends in science, mathematics, environmental studies, and education, through plenary lectures and oral and poster presentations. The 21st Century and Society 5.0 are two issues closely related and have a great impact on education. It is beyond doubt that education is at the heart of preparing present and future generation to thrive. An education system designed for the industrial economy requires transformation from a system based on facts and procedures to one that actively applies knowledge to collaborative problem solving.
