Summary of this volume: The Joint International Conference on Quasielastic Neutron Scattering QENS 2016 and the Workshop on Inelastic Spectrometers WINS2016 series aimed to bring together newcomers and experienced scientists to share the latest developments in the investigation of the dynamics phenomena in materials using quasi-elastic neutron scattering. The program covered the broad range of applications from thermoelectric and hydrogen storage materials to catalysis, fuel cells, and batteries. The program of the WINS 2016 workshop covered innovative aspects of instrument design and new instrumental concepts, as well as reports on the progress of spectrometer projects.
