Summary of this volume: The Meeting of Departments of Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics was the latest in a series of annual events held since 1981 which provided education in the areas of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics between professors and experts from Czech and Slovak universities. Measurements and calculations of variables in the process of fluid flow, fluid flow visualization, and flow parameter optimization in thermal and hydraulic machines were presented as well as contributions dealing with thermodynamics focused on heat and mass transfer, application of the latest information in the area of mechanics of gases in practice, and measurement of energy systems or efficiency of the use of renewable energy sources.
