Summary of this volume: The 16th International conference Special Concrete and Composites 2019 continues a series of events that started in 2001. The conference is focused on development of special composites in terms of their design, durability and novel procedures for the determination of material properties. This proceedings contains a number of papers dealing with cement based composites and their specific applications, however a significant part of the work is focused on the development of new environmentally friendly binders and technologies. Specific topical areas include chemistry of cement; cement supplementary materials; non-cement binders; utilization of waste materials; diagnosis of structures and materials; and cleaner technologies.
