Summary of this volume: International Tropical Renewable Energy Conference (i-TREC) was the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in renewable energy in tropical countries. iTREC is an annual conference and was started back in 2016. The 5th iTREC covered eight main topics or symposia, namely hybrid and electric vehicles, fuel cell technology, eco tropical built environments, multifunctional and advanced materials, energy storage, renewable energy integration, bioenergy, and engineering and technology in response to COVID-19. This event addressed recent developments and provided an opportunity for researchers for further collaborations.
