Title information

Summary of this volume: The 17th International Conference on Concentrator Photovoltaic Systems (CPV-17) continued a series of events that started in 2002. From the beginning, the conference has been devoted to technical and scientific aspects, and the conference series quickly became the main event for the international CPV community. This year, the conference was held exclusively online due to international travel restrictions.
The conference proceedings contain papers that reflect the state of the art and give a comprehensive overview of CPV—a technology where optics are used to concentrate sunlight onto high efficiency solar cells. The papers are written by the most prominent scientists and engineers active in the field of CPV. Specific topical areas include solar cells, modules and systems for low- and high-concentration applications; CPV tracking and field experience; concentrator optics; characterization, reliability and standards for CPV technology and related applications.

These proceedings will be of interest to: scientists, academics and engineers working on or interested in photovoltaics, renewable energy, semiconductors, optics, optoelectronics or photonics either working in a company, research institute or university; graduate students that have work on their PhD thesis or have a general interest in PV and/or CPV, engineers or CTO at companies from each link in the supply chain of CPV, from the CPV cell, optics and module assembly to system integration and tracking; energy suppliers and EPC-companies (Engineering Procurement & Construction); representatives from funding institutions; banks and private investors interested in a commitment in CPV.
